It seems Nokia’s OVI Suite, the revamped version of Nokia PC Suite for next-gen handsets, is keeping its precedessor’s bad habits: basically, it installs an unwanted firefox sync extension (I guess for bookmark sync or something, still Nokia could at least ask, before installing it!).
Since you can’t actually remove said extension from within firefox, you have to act on both your registry and HD directly. Here’s how to remove the blasted thing:
1. Start/run “regedit”, then navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\Firefox\Extensions and delete the Firefox Sync Extension registration key (can’t remember the name, but you’ll surely recognize it, since it stores the path to said extension);
2. Go to C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite\Connectors\Bookmarks Connector and delete the Firefox estension folder;
3. All done, now OVI’s Firefox extension is gone for good.
Thank you Man !!! ;) This was realy useful to me. Good Job...
